Dell UltraSharp 27 U2719D Monitor Review

With everyone working from home and school being online have another monitor is crucial for productivity. I decided to pick up a monitor when covid hit and got the Dell UltraSharp 27. I’ve been very happy with my purchase and have been using this monitor for well over a year. If you don’t want to read my review and just want the monitor click the link here.

The display is amazing and at 27 inches it’s the perfect size to fit in a college apartment. The panel is very bright and can be moved into a vertical orientation if desired. I like to use the standard view and switch to comfort view at night to reduce strain on my eyes. I also love the small bezels on the screen giving more screen space.

The UltraSharp comes with a USB 3.0 hub which is great except you have to plug your laptop in to use it. If you have a newer laptop that only has USB C you’ll need an adapter to use the USB hub on the monitor. I really do like the hub when I use it giving me an additional 4 USB ports. The 2 ports on the left side can charge up to 2A which I use often to charge my headphones.

Dell has included 1 HDMI port and 2 Display ports. One of the display ports is used to connect another monitor which I never use so really you have 2 ports that you can use. I find myself using the display port to connect my laptop with a cable I found on amazon that is USB C to DisplayPort. I have included a link if you need one here. I use the HDMI port for my Xbox which works great and I can switch between the two very easily. I will say auto-detect does struggle sometimes if it does just go into the menu and select the output you want.

Pixel Density

The UltraSharp is 2560X1440p which I found to be the best pixel density for a 27-inch screen. I find from using other monitors that 1080p looks a little grainy on anything bigger than 24 inches. Overall, the screen looks great and the text is sharp and easy to read.

The Dell Ultrasharp is a great monitor that truly has helped me be more productive. I’m able to have a lecture open and write my notes on my laptop at the same time which has been a lifesaver. If you’re interested in picking up a Dell Ultrasharp the click the link here.
